EMRTC, as an approved Department of Transportation Examining Agency, is authorized to perform explosive and other hazardous materials testing or examination. From the results of the examination, EMRTC can determine the proper DOT classification. The examination will determine proper shipping name, UN number, hazard class, and packing group. EMRTC examines packaged and unpackaged articles, propellants and substances.

Marvin Banks is the authorized UN/DOT observer and will furnish the necessary reports for the classification of energetics. All testing is performed in accordance with US DOT guidelines and the United Nations Transportation of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria. EMRTC performs most of the procedures found in the UN Manual.
