The tactical version of PRSBI is conducted at the Playas Training and Research Center (PTRC) and is designed for Tactical Response Teams. PRSBI-T contains the basic material with addition modules that are not provided in the PRSBI course. The tactical version is designed to familiarize and provide opportunity for tactical response teams to, train, practice, and recognize special considerations and principles when confronted with suicide bomber incidents or to operate around explosive materials.
This four-hour awareness level course provides participants with the language and tools required to effectively assess school bomb incident response plans and guide recommendations. It is available online and as a face-to-face course.
ILERSBA was developed with support and cooperation from the Department of Homeland Security, National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board, and New Mexico Tech to provide front line law enforcement officers with the skills and knowledge to effectively interdict and respond to an imminent suicide bombing attack (person-borne or vehicle-borne) or a non-suicide attack involving a vehicle-borne device.
New Mexico Tech and The National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC) on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Preparedness Directorate have developed courses as part of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium's curricula to improve the abilities of jurisdictions to combat domestic terrorism. The courses provide training to first responders at the awareness, operations, technician, or incident command levels. Medical Preparedness and Response for Bombing Incidents an operations level course, is one of several taught by New Mexico Tech (NMT) and the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and funded by The U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
