The Ordnance Preparation Facility is a double-bay building designed especially for ordnance operations. This facility is equipped to handle such operations as explosive loading for research and development of munitions, rocket motor preparation, assembly of explosive components, remote disassembly of ordnance items, and up/down loading and priming/depriming fixed ammunition.
Additional support systems include electronic and mechanical balances for the precise measuring of small and large quantities of materials or items, air-operated special tools, and video equipment for viewing and recording operations from a remote location.
EMRTC has extensive experience in static warhead testing to determine performance and lethality. EMRTC can provide data acquisition, high-speed digital cameras and witness panels to determine the performance of the warhead. This may include blast over pressure, fragment velocity, size and distribution.
